Who is Sam Smith?

Sam Smith is a contemporary Australian artist. He lives and works between London and Sydney.

For the past 4 years he has been based in Berlin including a year long residency as part of the Künstlerhaus Bethanien International Studio Programme in 2013/14. His recent solo exhibitions and performances include 'Notes on the Apparatus' selected by Vdrome for the Artists' Film Biennial, Institute of Contemporary Arts, London; 'Frames of Reference', a solo exhibition at The Royal Standard as part of their Liverpool Biennial 2014 programme; 'Form Variations', Künstlerhaus Bethanien, Berlin; 'Frameworks', 3+1 Arte Contemporânea, Lisbon and 'Cameraman', Art Gallery of New South Wales, Sydney. He has participated in numerous group shows including 'Online/Offline. Encoding Everyday Life for Vorspeil Transmediale', Altes Finanzamt, Berlin; 'Oblivion', Zweigstelle Berlin; 'Conquest of Space', COFA Galleries, Sydney, Australia; 'Larger than life', Temporära Konsthallen, Stockholm and 'Framed Perceptions', Sinne, Helsinki.
