Earlier in her career, Lontoh had a stint in management consulting at the strategy consulting firm Bain & Company and spent a few years as a technology entrepreneur.
Lontoh is a professional mentor for the TechWomen program, a United States Department of State's women-in-technology initiative under Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's leadership to implement President Barack Obama’s vision for greater collaboration between the United States and the emerging leaders in the global communities. Additionally, Lontoh is involved in the Clean Energy Education & Empowerment program, an initiative between the United States Department of Energy and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to advance the professional leadership of women in green energy.
