Who is Sophie Hosking?
Sophie Hannah Marguerite Hosking MBE is a British rower. She was born in Edinburgh.
She won the gold medal for the 2012 Olympics lightweight double sculls, along with Kat Copeland.
She studied at Kingston Grammar School in London, and Trevelyan College, Durham University, graduating in 2007.
Her father, David Hosking MBE, a former Royal Navy officer, won a gold medal as part of Britain's LM8+ at the 1980 Rowing World Championships, and also took part in the 2009 Atlantic Rowing Race.
She is a member of the London Rowing Club in Putney. She is an avid fan of AFC Wimbledon.
Hosking was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire in the 2013 New Year Honours for services to rowing.
