Who is Soumyajit Ghosh?

Soumyajit Ghosh is an Indian table tennis player from Siliguri.

Soumyajit Ghosh is the Indian National Table Tennis champion. He won the title on January 12, 2013 by beating Sharath Kamal.

As of January 2013, his rank is 1st in India and 68th in Asia.

He is the youngest Indian to qualify for the 2012 London Olympics. He competed for India in Men's singles Table Tennis.

Ghosh lost to North Korea's Kim Hyok-Bong 1-4, in the second round encounter on 29 July 2012 ending the Indian challenge in the Olympics Table Tennis.

Ghosh along with Manika Batra represented India at the GAC Group ITTF World Tour Brazil Open 2013 U-21 men and women respective categories.Racing towards the finals he came across his team mate G. Sathiyan in the semifinals and beat him by a pretty score of 11-4, 11-7, 14-12, 9-11, 11-9.Landing himself in the finals he encountered Benjamin Brossier of France who he defeated him by a score of 8-11, 6-11, 11-7, 11-6, 9-11, 11-7, 11-2 to win the men’s title. This also pocketed him a sum of $1,500 for the win.
