Who was Vera Alexandrovna Tiscenko Calder?
Vera Alexandrovna Tiscenko was a Russian actress of Polish descent and member of the Moscow Art Theatre who lived through five revolutions. The 1905 Russian Revolution, the Russian Revolution, the Spanish Civil War, the Great Calcutta Killing & Indian Independence Movement, and the Indo-Pakistani War of 1947. In India, her divorce from her first husband, Eugene Tiscenko, has achieved the status of a constitutional precedent that has been deployed repeatedly by the Supreme Court of India. She was the second wife of Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy who was the last Chief Minister of United Bengal and subsequently became the fifth Prime Minister of Pakistan.
