Who was Vernon Cheadle?
Vernon Irving Cheadle was an American educator and university administrator. He served as the 2nd chancellor of the University of California, Santa Barbara from 1962 til 1977.
He was born in Salem, South Dakota, and received his undergraduate degree from Miami University in Ohio in 1932, and a master's degree and Ph.D. in botany from Harvard University.
