Who is Walter Niedermayr?

Walter Niedermayr is an Italian photographer.

Niedermayr is mostly renewed for his photographs where he investigates the space as a reality occupied and shaped by people, questioning the ephemerical realms between representation and imagination. This body of work started in 1987 with the series Alpine Landschaften, and continued with Raumfolgen, Rohbauten and Artefakte. His series Bildraum focuses on architecture, space and environment. Between 2005 and 2008 he worked on the series Iran, while since 2009-2010 he has been working on The Aspen Series in Colorado. In 2011 Walter Niedermayr was appointed Professor of Fine Art Photography at the Faculty of Design and Art, at the University of Bolzano/Bozen.
