Who is Wendy Abrams?
Wendy Abrams is an American environmental activist and the founder of Cool Globes. In 2010 she was designated a Women's History Month Honoree by the National Women's History Project.
She grew up in Highland Park. She graduated from Brown University and from Northwestern University with an MBA. She was Medline Industries' director of corporate communications. She has been a member of the Environmental Defense Fund's National Council since 2002. She is on the board of the Natural Resources Defense Council, the Union of Concerned Scientists, the Sierra Club, Waterkeeper Alliance, and The Field Museum. In 2007, she organized "Cool Globes" in Chicago. She is married to Jim Abrams; they have four children.
