Who is Willard Gaylin?
Willard Gaylin is an American psychiatrist and bioethicist. Along with Daniel Callahan, Gaylin founded The Hastings Center in 1969. He has served as a professor of psychiatry at Columbia Medical School, a professor of psychiatry and law at Columbia Law School, and an adjunct professor at Union Theological Seminary.
Gaylin received his B.A. from Harvard College and his M.D. from Case Western Reserve University.
Gaylin was a featured panelist in the 10 part series Ethics in America from 1987.
Willard Gaylin's work is also featured in the film Gattaca during the opening credits. He is quoted: "I not only think that we will tamper with Mother Nature, I think Mother wants us to."
