Who is Willem Vrelant?

Willem Vrelant was a Dutch book illuminator.

He is taught to be born in Utrecht, where he was already active in 1450, and where he created the Hours of William de Montfort. From 1454 to 1481 he is recorded as a member of the Bruges guild of bookmakers. His large and productive workshop produced a book of hours which is now in Baltimore, the Hours of Isabella of Castille, the Chronicles of Hainaut and individual miniatures in the Hours of Mary of Burgundy.
