Who is William Anthony Nugent, 13th Earl of Westmeath?
William Anthony Nugent, 13th Earl of Westmeath, born at Flowerhill House, Tynagh, County Galway, 21 November 1928, was an Anglo-Irish soldier, schoolmaster, and peer.
Nugent was educated at Marlborough College, Wiltshire, and at the Royal Military College, Sandhurst. He served in the Royal Artillery as a Captain, retiring in 1961. He was subsequently employed as a schoolmaster at St Andrew's School, Pangbourne, from 1961 to 1988.
He inherited his father's titles on the latter's death in 1971. He married Susanna Margaret Leonard of Sutton Courtenay, Berkshire, in 1963 and had issue:
