Who was William McCulloch?
William McCulloch CMG was a pastoralist, businessman and politician in Victoria, Australia.
Born in Wigtownshire to Samuel McCulloch and his wife Helen, née McWhinnie, he arrived in Melbourne in 1852 and successfully mined for gold at Mount Alexander. In 1860 he married Catherine Vans Agnew Christison in Scotland, with whom he would have seven children.
