Who is Willie Russell?
William "Willie" Fraser Russell was a Scottish professional footballer.
Russell scored both goals for Airdrie when they won the 1924 Scottish Cup Final, against Hibernian. This is the only major trophy Airdrie have won to date. He formed part of a potent Airdrie front three along with Hughie Gallacher and Bob McPhail that also finished second that season in Scotland's top division. Russell represented Scotland twice and the Scottish League twice.
