Who is Ömer Aslanoğlu?
Ömer Aslanoğlu is a Turkish swimmer, who specialized in the breaststroke events. Aslanoglu qualified for the men's 200 m breaststroke at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, by eclipsing a FINA B-standard entry time of 2:17.85 from the Speedo Turkish Open Senior Championships in Izmir. He challenged four other swimmers on the first heat, including returning Olympian Sergio Ferreyra of Argentina. He raced to fourth place by 0.16 of a second behind Venezuela's Leopoldo Andara in 2:17.93. Aslanoglu failed to advance into the semifinals, as he placed fifty-first overall in the preliminaries.
