Who was A. P. Udhayabhanu?
A.P Udayabhanu was an Indian freedom fighter,journalist,writer and social activist from the State of Kerala. He was from the Alummoottil Channar, an Ezhava, family of Muttom near Haripad of Central Travancore. He was a leader from Indian National Congress. He was elected to the Travancore Legislative Assembly twice, in 1944 and 1948, on Congress ticket. He had worked as chief-editor of many newspapers including Mathrubhumi. He also served as the Chair-Person of the World Wide Fund for Nature - Kerala Chapter for a long time. His articles and columns used to appear in many Malayalam periodicals and news papers on a regular basis, mostly commenting on social issues.
