Who was Abdus Sattar?
Abdus Sattar was an attorney and politician in Bangladesh, serving as President of Bangladesh from 1981 until removed by a bloodless coup-d'etat in 1982. He was born in West Bengal, now part of India, and after the Partition of 1947, made his home in what became known as East Pakistan. After the independence of Bangladesh, he joined that nation.
