Who was Al Hollingsworth?
Albert Wayne Hollingsworth was an American left-handed pitcher in Major League Baseball from 1935 to 1946, most notably with the Cincinnati Reds and St. Louis Browns. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, he appeared in four innings of the 1944 World Series for the Browns. After his playing career, Hollingsworth was a manager in minor league baseball, coached for the St. Louis Cardinals from 1957 to 1958, and served as a scout for the Cardinals, Washington Senators, Houston Astros and Oakland Athletics.
