Who was Al Hostak?
Albert Paul Hostak, nicknamed "the Savage Slav," was an American-born middleweight boxer who fought from 1932-1949. Hostak twice held the National Boxing Association Middleweight title between 1938 and 1940. He was known as a hard puncher and had a record of 64 wins, 9 losses, 11 draws, and 84 total bouts.
