Alannah Hill is an Australian Fashion Icon. Alannah Louise Hill was born in Franklin Tasmania in 1962. Alannah's father, James Hilary Hill was an orchardist and her mother, Aileen Yvonne Manton was a housewife. When Alannah was 7 years old her five siblings moved to the North West Coast of Tasmania where they bought a Milk/Bar/Service Station in the small coastal town of Penguin. When Alannah was 17 years old she moved to Melbourne where she lived in a small bedsit in Windsor. Alannah waitressed for a living and took part time jobs to pay her bedsit rent. She knew not one single soul in Melbourne and not one single soul knew Alannah. She became involved in the Post Punk Scene in Melbourne and her local haunt was the Crystal Ballroom in Fitzroy St. St. Kilda. Her fantasy was to establish an acting career although she was well aware that she could not act. Alannah attended St. Martins School of Theatre in South Yarra where she trained with Ben Mendolsen and Noah Taylor. Her first acting job was in Hugo Races play that he wrote when he was 17 years old called SWEATY WEATHER.
