Who was Alexander Gorchakov?
Alexander Mikhailovich Gorchakov, was a Russian statesman from the Gorchakov princely family. He has an enduring reputation as one of the most influential and respected diplomats of the nineteenth century. From 1863 to 1883 he was chancellor of the Russian Empire.
