Who is Altaf Shaikh?

Altaf Ahmed Shaikh is a retired Marine Engineer and a renowned Sindhi scholar, professor, and travel writer from Pakistan. He is the associate professor of Naval engineering and Marine engineering at Pakistan Naval Academy. His first book on travel was Munhnjo Saagar Munhnjo Sahil, which was published in 1971, and won the Pakistan Writers Guild Award. He was also awarded Tamgha-e-Imtiaz on 23 March 2011, by the Governor of Sindh Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan on behalf of President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari, for his contributions in Sindhi and Urdu Literature.
