Who is Amanda Cole?

Amanda Cole (born June 1, 1974) is an American singer from the state of Mississippi. She is notable for her powerful voice and vocal range of approximately four octave. A major source of her inspiration to become an entertainer was seeing Whitney Houston's music video "I Wanna Dance with Somebody" as a teenager. Amanda currently lives in New York City with her husband and child. Cole joined En Vogue in 2001, touring with them in the Netherlands and smaller venues in the United States. She did not record much material with the group. Amanda left En Vogue in 2003 and subsequently decided to embark on a solo career, which she says she has found difficult after working with an established group.
