Wadkar also praised Anamika, saying that “Anamika ki voice mein jitni sureelapan hai utni hi woh mehnati hai”.

Anamika eventually went on to win the first ever International L'il Champs. She was declared the winner on March 1, 2008 receiving a total of 44 lakh 80 thousand votes. Her fellow contestant Rohanpreet Singh was the first runner-up receiving a total of 38 lakh 47 thousand votes, and Tanmay Chaturvedi was the second runner-up receiving more than 34 lakh votes.
