Who was André Oscar Wallenberg?

André Oscar Wallenberg, was a Swedish naval officer, newspaper tycoon, banker, politician and a member of the Wallenberg family. In 1856 André Oscar Wallenberg founded the Stockholms Enskilda Bank, the predecessor of today's Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken.

He was son of the bishop in Linköping, Marcus Wallenberg, and his wife Anna Laurentia Barfoth. He was married the first time in 1854 with Catharina Wilhelmina Andersson, and the second time in 1861 with Anna Eleonora Charlotta von Sydow. Father to Knut Agathon Wallenberg, Gustaf Wallenberg, Oscar Wallenberg, Axel Wallenberg, Marcus Wallenberg and Victor Wallenberg.
