William "Bill" 'Sos' Sayer was an English professional rugby league footballer of the 1950s, '60s and '70s, playing at representative level for Great Britain, and at club level for Wigan Highfield, Wigan and St. Helens, as a Hooker, i.e. number 9, during the era of contested scrums.
