Bir Bhanu

Who is Bir Bhanu?

Bir Bhanu is a Distinguished Professor of Electrical Engineering, and Cooperative Professor of Computer Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Bioengineering, at the University of California, Riverside. He is also Director of the Visualization and Intelligent Systems Laboratory and the Center for Research in Intelligent Systems at the University of California, Riverside. He was the first Founding Faculty of the Bourns College of Engineering at the University of California, Riverside and served as the Founding Chair of its department of Electrical Engineering from 1991-1994.

His current research interests are computer vision, pattern recognition and data mining, machine learning, artificial intelligence, image processing, image and video database, graphics and visualization, robotics, and human-computer interactions, and biological, medical, military and intelligence applications.
