Colonel His Highness Maharaja Manikya Sir Bir Bikram Kishore Deb Barman Bahadur GBE KCSI was the last ruling Maharaja of Tripura before it merged with India in 1949.
The Maharaja was Commander-in-Chief of the Tripura State Forces, an Honorary Lieutenant-Colonel in the Indian Army, Honorary Colonel of the 5th Urban Infantry Territorial Army, and a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and the Royal Society of Literature.
