Who is Carol Plants?

Carol Plants was born into poverty in Clearwater, Florida. After a childhood of neglect and abuse, Carol escaped to California. She finished high school and went on to Pepperdine University to study Fine Arts. Enjoying the Southern California lifestyle, she never knew she had a brother living not far from her as she attended classes in Malibu. To supplement her income while in school Carol served as a telephone operator for GTE; balancing work and studies until she graduated in 1986. After graduation Carol went on to intern at Paramount Studios and was well on her way to achieving her dreams when her mother fell ill. So Carol packed her things and moved back to Florida, putting her future on hold. Her dreams stayed on hold for the next 20 yrs. She cared for her mother until 2003 when her mother passed on. In that time she had met someone and started a family and a life apart from Hollywood in Florida. Troubles seemed to follow Carol throughout her life. Her husband developed a heart condition and underwent surgery in the fall of 2000 to replace a valve in his heart. The following year they would be tested again when on the very day that terrorists attacked the Twin Towers in New York, Carol's husband collapsed and was rushed to surgery to repair an aortic aneurysm. Against all odds her husband survived. After several months of recovery she was able to bring him home. It would still be a few more years before her husband would be able to go from a wheelchair to a cane. It was in the midst of these trials that Carol's mother passed away. There had been many abuses over the years with Carol's mother that she had learned to overlook. Somewhere along the road of life she had learned that family was most important, even if they didn't want you around. After her mother's death Carol thought it's over now, her mother could rest in peace. Unfortunately that wasn't entirely so. Her mother had left behind a secret that she had carried to the grave. Amongst her mother's belongings Carol found a letter telling of an affair and leading to a father she'd never known. After exhaustive research Carol found she would never get the chance to know her father Thomas Brosnan, because he had died many years before. The surgery had saved her husband's life, but it left him disabled and unable to work. This was a hard blow to such a young and active man. Eventually over time it changed him. He became harsh and cruel, and in the end impossible to live with. So Carol took her children and moved back to California. Alone in California Carol started over with her teen daughters, and after a year of living in shelters and motels she was able to get back on her feet. So secure in her life again, Carol started a career as an artist, as well as a writer.Carol pursued another question on her mind, a brother from her father that she'd never known. Having been discarded by her other siblings for various reasons of family malfunctions. Carol would try to build a relationship with this long lost brother. After a rough start bridges are slowly being built between them, and her future looks bright
