Who was Creadel "Red" Jones?

Creadel "Red" Jones was an original member of the Chicago recording group known as The Chi-Lites. His distinctive bass voice was one of the group's trademarks, and was heard on many of their hits, such as "Are You My Woman","I Like Your Lovin',", " Give More Power to the People," and "Oh Girl". He left the group in the mid-1970s and was replaced by Stanley Anderson. He made a brief return in 1980. Jones left for good in 1990 and died four years later.
