Who is Don Jowett?
Donald "Don" Winston Jowett was a New Zealand sprinter. One of New Zealand's most successful sprinters he won three medals at British Empire and Commonwealth Games.
At the 1950 British Empire Games he won the bronze medal in the men's 220 yards. Four years later at the Vancouver British Empire and Commonwealth Games he won the gold medal in the men's 220 yards and the silver medal in the 440 yards.
He played rugby for Otago in 1957. He later moved to Queensland where he was involved in rugby and athletics administration, coaching and refereeing. He died on 21 July 2011.
