Who is Donald Metcalfe?
Donald "Don" Metcalfe born in Wakefield, was a mathematics lecturer at Wakefield College, and an English rugby union and professional rugby league footballer of the 1950s and '60s, playing club level rugby union for Sandal RUFC, and playing representative level rugby league for England, and Yorkshire, and at club level for Featherstone Rovers, and Wakefield Trinity, as a Fullback, or Centre, i.e. number 1, or, 3 or 4, he died in Wakefield.
