Who was Dorothea Mitchell?
Dorothea Mitchell was a lumberjack and co-founder of the Port Arthur Amateur Film Society which produced A Race For Ties, Canada's first amateur feature film. Mitchell wrote and starred in the film. She published an autobiography, Lady Lumberjack, in 1968. This book and other writings by her were republished in an annotated collection in 2005.
