Who was Dorothy Muriel Webster?
Daughter of Geoffrey Seymour William Webster ( 1864-1888). Her father died before she was born. Her mother was Ada Mary Paget ( died 1947 ). In 1910 Dorothy married Ian Onslow Dennistoun, whom she divorced in Paris in 1921. Dorothy's disclosures rocked the foundations of London Society in 1925 when she brought an action for payment of alimony and the return of monies owed her by her former husband, then Lt Colonel Ian Dennistoun, the husband of Almina, Countess of Carnarvon.
In 1928 Dorothy married Colonel Nicholas Woevodsky. She died at her beloved garden, Castillo Cap Roig Palafrugell, Spain, in 1980.
From 1916 -1920 Dorothy was the Mistress of General Sir John Stevens Cowans, 1862-1921, QuarterMaster of the British Army during the First World War.
