Who was Eugene Allen Wright?
Eugene Allen Wright was a United States federal judge.
Born in Seattle, Washington, Wright received an A.B. from the University of Washington in 1934 and a J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law in 1937. He was in the United States Army Reserve Colonel from 1934 to 1965. He was an Active service from 1941 to 1946. He was in private practice in Seattle, Washington, 1937-1941 from 1946 to 1954. He was a Judge pro tem, Municipal Court, Seattle, Washington from 1948 to 1952. He was a Lecturer, University of Washington Law School from 1952 to 1974. He was a judge on the Washington Superior Court, King County, Washington from 1954 to 1966. He was a Lecturer, University of Washington School of Communications from 1965 to 1966. He was a Vice president and senior trust officer, Pacific National Bank of Seattle, Washington from 1966 to 1969.
Wright was a federal judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Wright was nominated by President Richard Nixon on June 23, 1969, to a new seat created by 82 Stat. 184. He was confirmed by the United States Senate on September 12, 1969, and received his commission on September 15, 1969. He assumed senior status on September 15, 1983. Wright served in that capacity until September 3, 2002, due to his death.
