Who is Flavio Cumpiano?

Flavio Cumpiano is Senior Congressional Liaison at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. He was previously the Staff Director and Counsel of the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit in the U.S. Congress during the financial reform process that culminated with the enactment of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. The subcommittee oversees all financial regulators, such as the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and the Federal Reserve, all matters pertaining to consumer credit including the Consumer Credit Protection Act and access to financial services, as well as the safety and soundness of the banking system. Mr. Cumpiano also served as Executive Director of the Puerto Rico Federal Affairs Administration in Washington, DC. He previously served as Senior Counsel and Policy Advisor to the Governor of Puerto Rico, the Honorable Aníbal Acevedo Vilá, in the PRFAA, which serves as the Governor's Washington, DC office. He was Senior Counsel for Mr. Acevedo Vilá when he served in the U.S. House of Representatives as the Resident Commissioner of Puerto Rico.
