Who was François-Nicholas-Madeleine Morlot?

François-Nicholas-Madeleine Morlot was a French Catholic Archbishop of Paris, from 1857 to 1862, and Cardinal.

He was bishop of Orléans in 1839, and archbishop of Tours in 1843. Before becoming a priest he was a private tutor.

He died on December 29, 1862, in Paris and was exposed and buried in the metropolitan cathedral.
