Who is Freddie Roach?
Frederick Steven "Freddie" Roach is an American boxing trainer and a former professional boxer. Roach is of Irish and French Canadian descent. Roach is one of the most well-known boxing trainers in the world, having been voted Trainer of the Year by the Boxing Writers Association of America in 2003, 2006, 2008, 2009 and 2010. He is the boxing coach of former UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre, as well as trainer of eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao, former four-time and three-division World Champion Miguel Cotto, former WBC Middleweight Champion Julio César Chávez, Jr. and top prospects Jose Benavidez, Peter Quillin and Vanes Martirosyan. Roach was also the trainer of former two-time world champion and notable women's champion Lucia Rijker. Roach has also trained former junior welterweight champion Amir Khan.
