Who was Graham Pratten?

Frederick Graham Pratten was an Australian politician. Born in Sydney, he attended North Sydney Grammar School and the University of Sydney, and served in World War I 1917-18. He then became the managing director of the family companies. In 1928 his uncle, Herbert Pratten, a Nationalist MP, died, and Frederick was selected by the Nationalists to replace him in the resulting by-election for the seat of Martin. He was elected, and was returned in the federal election later that year. He was defeated in the elections of 1929. He was subsequently a member of the New South Wales Legislative Council from 1937 to 1976 and a company director in Sydney. Pratten died in 1977.
