Who is Frederick R. Steiner?

Frederick R. "Fritz" Steiner is the Dean of the School of Architecture at the University of Texas at Austin since 2001 and holds the Henry M. Rockwell Chair in Architecture since 2004. He is past president of the Hill Country Conservancy and past chair of Envision Central Texas. He is a fellow of the American Society of Landscape Architects and the American Academy in Rome. He has been a visiting professor at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China, and was a Fulbright-Hays research scholar at Wageningen University in The Netherlands. He teaches courses in the areas of landscape analysis, landscape architecture theory, and environmental impact assessment. His specialization is in ecological planning, historic preservation, environmental design, green building, and regional planning.
