Who is Fredi Walker?

Fredi Walker is an American actress, singer, director, and theatre producer.

She married in 2000 and now goes by Fredi Walker-Browne.

Her Broadway debut was the role of Joanne Jefferson, the high-class lawyer and lover of Maureen Johnson, in the original Broadway cast of Rent. She also toured nationally with The Lion King as Rafiki. She decided not to reprise her role of Joanne in the film version of Rent because of her age. She was replaced by Tracie Thoms. She is the founder and president of Big Spoon Productions.
