Who was Friedrich-Wilhelm Morzik?
Friedrich-Wilhelm "Fritz" Morzik was a highly decorated Generalmajor in the Luftwaffe during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Friedrich-Wilhelm Morzik was captured in May 1945 by American troops and was held until 1947.
