Who is Glaucetas?
Glaucetas, sometimes transliterated Glauketas, was a corsair chief active in the Aegean Sea during 4th Century BC. Although little is known about his life, he is recorded in ancient Greek inscriptions of the Athenian navy under Thymochares of Sphettos raiding his base on Kythnos and capturing he and his men "making the sea safe for those that sailed thereon."
