Who was Graham Chadwick?
Graham Charles Chadwick was a British Christian missionary, bishop and anti-apartheid campaigner in South Africa. After war-time service in the Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve he was ordained in the Anglican Church in Wales. After an initial period in Lesotho he returned to Britain. A second period in Lesotho began in 1970, and in 1976 he was elected Bishop of Kimberley and Kuruman in the Anglican Church of Southern Africa. His anti-apartheid activities saw him expelled from South Africa in 1982 and necessitated his return to the United Kingdom.
