Who is Greg Hughes?

Greg

Hughes is group president, Global Services, managing Symantec’s

enterprise services operations. Hughes is responsible for consulting,

education, technical support, operational services, managed security

services, security response, and software as a service.

Hughes joined Symantec through the company’s merger with VERITAS

Software, where he was executive vice president of global services. He

led the integration of Symantec and VERITAS’ consulting, technical

support and education operations. Hughes joined VERITAS from McKinsey

Co., where he was a partner. During his 10-year career at

McKinsey, he founded and led the North American Software Industry

practice and worked as a consultant to senior executives across a range

of industries on information-technology related issues.

He is a frequent speaker and writer on the subject of IT Risk

Management (ITRM), the emerging discipline of managing IT operations to

increase resiliency and reduce cost. With the increasing dependence of

enterprises on information technology, executives are using ITRM to

manage security, availability, compliance and performance risks.

Symantec’s Global Services organization is a world-leader in providing

IT Risk Management services and solutions.

Hughes holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the

Stanford Graduate School of Business, and a bachelor's degree in

electrical engineering and a master's degree in electrical engineering

and computer science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
