Who is Greg Sherman?
Greg Sherman is the current general manager of the Colorado Avalanche of the National Hockey League, a post he has held since June 3, 2009. Sherman stepped into the role following seven years as a special assistant to the general manager for the club. He replaced François Giguère.
When Patrick Roy was named head coach of the Avalanche in 2013, he was also named vice president of hockey operations. According to Bob McKenzie of TSN, Sherman is now general manager "in name only." Sherman now serves mainly in an advisory role to Roy and executive vice president Joe Sakic, who have the final say in hockey matters. Greg Sherman, also is head of scouting for the Colorado Avalanche.
