Who is Grete Faremo?
Grete Faremo, is a Norwegian politician who served as the Norwegian Minister of Justice and the Police in Norway from 2012 to 2013. In 2007 she was a director at Microsoft when it joined PRISM. In 2013 she said that she in 2007 was unaware of Microsoft's participation in PRISM.
Grete Faremo is the daughter of the Norwegian politician Osmund Faremo and grew up in Byglandsfjord. She has a law degree from the University of Oslo from 1978.
Prior to serving in government, Faremo was the head of the legal and public relations function of Microsoft, region Western Europe. .
Faremo was appointed the Minister of Defence on October 20, 2009.
Faremo has held a range of political positions for the Norwegian Labour Party
From 1990 to 1992 she was Minister of Development Cooperation, in the government of Gro Harlem Brundtland
From 1992 to 1996 she was Minister of Justice
In 1996 she was Minister of Petroleum and Energy
From 1993 to 1997 she was an elected Member of Stortinget, the Norwegian Parliament
1997-2003 Executive vice-president Storebrand ASA
2003-2008 Director of legal and corporate affairs, Microsoft Norway
2008-2011 Minister of Defense
From 2011.11.11 she is Minister of Justice
