Who was Jill Cruwys?

Jill Elizabeth Cruwys was an English cricketer who played for the Kent women's team, the East women's team, the West Midlands women's team and the English women's cricket team. She made her test debut in 1969 when she was a member of the England women's team who played against New Zealand in Wellington. Cruwys was a member of the successful England team who beat Australia at Edgbaston to win the first Women's Cricket World Cup in July 1973. She made her last test appearance in 1976 when England played Australia in Birmingham. She was born in Bromley, Kent. She married Richard Smart in 1978. She died at the age of 47 in Droitwich, Worcestershire.
