Who is Jim Tavaré?

A native of the United Kingdom, Jim Tavare is an internationally acclaimed comedian with a highly distinguished career.

After performing at the Montreal Just for Laughs Comedy Festival, an episode of the long running comedy series Wings was written around his act.

Tavare entered and won International Star Search. He has had two seasons of The Jim Tavare Show on BBC TV, which he co-wrote with Ricky Gervais who also starred.

He won a BAFTA Award for his writing and appearance in The Sketch Show, which later aired in the United States on Fox as Kelsey Grammer Presents: The Sketch Show. Tavare starred as Tom the Innkeeper in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Since then, he has made several further film appearances and was recently seen in the hit television series Last Comic Standing, where he was a finalist in the top five remaining comedians.

In the United Kingdom, Tavare is renowned for being His Royal Highness, Prince Charles' favorite comic.
