Jimmy Katumba was a Ugandan popular music singer. Starting out as a singer of gospel music in his early years, he rose to fame as the country's premier pop star from late seventies to the nineties. With a string of hits that charted from the late seventies to the late 90’s, Jimmy Katumba played a definitive role in changing the shape of popular music in Uganda that earned him a place among the country’s leading music artists.

Jimmy Katumba was a Ugandan bandleader and singer. His band, The Ebonies, dominated the Ugandan music scene in the 1980s and 1990s.
