Who is Jinchao Xu?

Jinchao Xu is an American-Chinese mathematician, known for his work on multigrid methods and domain decomposition methods.

He studied at the Xiangtan University in the Hunan province, attended Beijing University for graduate school, and obtained his Ph.D. at Cornell University from James H. Bramble. Currently, Xu works as a distinguished professor at the Pennsylvania State University and is an ISI highly cited researcher.

Xu is a recipient of the Humboldt Prize and a SIAM fellow. In 2012 he became a fellow of the American Mathematical Society.
